Try these places if you need somewhere to stay in the Peak District. For our Peak District rock climbing courses we use the eastern gritstone edges around the village of Hathersage. Our navigation courses use the Kinder plateau above the village of Edale and the high ground around the Derwent valley.

Comments:	Good hostel on main road in centre of Hathersage. Good location for climbing on Eastern Edges - particularly Stanage, Froggat and Burbage. Good selection of pubs and restaurants in village.

Comments:	Good hostel in centre of village of Castleton. Village and hostel very busy in the summer. Good location for walking around Edale. Nice short walks from the hostel itself. Range of pubs in the village.

Comments:	The original budget caver's accommodation in the Peak District is open to all. Shared bunk rooms and a load of noisy cavers. Only £4.00 per night for non-members.

Comments:	Very nice B&B on the main road in Stoney Middleton Dale. A bit of a drive to the Eastern Edges for rock climbing or Castleton for caving but excellent food and great atmosphere in the bistro.

Comments:	Well-regarded pub for food and accomodation. Excellent location for rock climbing. Very close to the Eastern Edges. Hathersage is a small village at the edge of the dark peak with plenty of amenities.

Comments:	A pub with seven great rooms. Excellent location for navigation courses in the Derwent Valley or on Kinder Scout. First class pub food throughout the day.
Camping
Eric Byne Memorial Campsite

Comments:	Very basic site. Just a field with toilets and washroom. No showers or hot water. Excellent views. No access by car. Park in public car park next to Robin Hood pub.

North Lees Campsite Campsite

Comments:	The most popular site in this part of the Peak. Good facilities - hot water, toilets, washroom and showers. Book in advance during the summer. Can walk to Eastern Edges from here.
