From the classic horseshoes of Snowdon and Helvellyn, to the
towering rock architecture of the North Face of Ben Nevis and the majesty
of the Black Cuillin of Skye; the UK has a lifetime's worth of great
mountain scrambles. Scrambling blurs the line between hillwalking and
climbing with routes like Pinnacle Ridge on St. Sunday Crag and Curved
Ridge on Buachaille Etive Mor requiring mountaineering skills in the wider sense.
In a day the terrain might vary from simple walking to an airy ridge and
easy-angled rock. Each require different skills and techniques for safe and
efficient progress. For walkers looking to extend their experience
into the mountaineering arena our rock scrambling courses and guided trips
give you the
skills required to make decisions, protect yourself and your party on scrambling
routes of all grades.

Cuillin
Ridge Traverse (Isle of Skye) The
two-day traverse of the twisted Cuillin Ridge is an extraordinary
expedition across a dinosaur's spine of twisted granite and basalt
lavas. A crossing of the seven-mile long ridge is a landmark
achievement for any mountaineer. We only attempt the full traverse
on a 1:2 private guiding basis with individuals who know each other
for the greatest chance of success. Call for details. |
